Nobody could have predicted how turbulent the past months would be. So many otherwise stable factors have become disrupted, leading to uncertainty which can easily become paralysing. But that is our worst-case scenario. We need to move on, building on our assets, ‘our people' and on our abilities. In close cooperation with customers, suppliers and all Wagenborg people we look back on 2021 with satisfaction. As we move into 2022 and hope to continue this positive vibe, here is a look back on some stories that moved our company last year.
Last weekend the ‘Castoro Sei’ arrived in Eemshaven under agency of Wagenborg. Assisted by multiple tugs, including the Wagenborg tugs Waterstraat and Waterstroom – the pipe laying platform was moored successfully at the Wagenborg terminal.
As off the 1st of June 2021, Wagenborg Agencies will expand her agency services to Belgium. As such, the ports of Antwerp, Ghent and Zeebrugge will be serviced from the Terneuzen office.
Recently, a so-called Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system was installed in the oldest Wagenborg tugboat 'Waterpoort' - built in 1962 and equipped with an old Stork Werkspoor engine. With this catalytic converter behind the engine, exhaust gases are treated, so that nitrogen (NOx) is captured.

As of January 1st 2021, a new Wagenborg branch office in eastern Finland will be operational to offer full agency services in various ports around the Gulf of Finland and the Saimaa region.
Recently, about 1.750 tons of wheat was discharged from the MV Douwent at the Wagenborg Bulk Terminal for Royal Koopmans under agency of Wagenborg. The cargo will be stored temporarily at the Bulk Terminal and be transshipped to the city of Leeuwarden into inland vessels in a couple of months.
