Topside Borssele Alpha to sea on Wagenborg Barge 7

Last week HSM Offshore has loaded out the Borssele Alpha substation topside onto the Wagenborg Barge 7 by means of self-propelled modular trailers (SPMTs) at its yard in Schiedam, the Netherlands.

This seagoing pontoon, measuring 100 meters in length and 33 meters in width and equipped with a ballast system, set sail from Schiedam towards the project site on Friday, 10 May. This transport travelled via the Nieuwe Waterweg and Hoek van Holland where it entered the North Sea. Upon arrival to the site, the topside was be placed from the Wagenborg Barge 7 onto the jacket foundation, which was installed in August last year.
